Highlights from Dylan Fixmer's "Concerto for Violin: In Memory of Terri Sternberg" premiered September 24 by the Greeley Philharmonic Orchestra with soloist Sarah Off.

This project, in partnership with homeless assistance organizations such as the Boulder Shelter for the Homeless, the Greeley Family House and the United Way of Weld County, seeks to destigmatize housing insecurity and mental illness associated with PTSD.

 

Fixmer Violin Concerto for Violin with the Greeley Philharmonic Orchestra (2022)

Written in loving memory of violinist Terri Sternberg, Dylan Fixmer's "Concerto for Violin" is a meditation on trauma, and a call to action to help end homelessness. During its premiere on September 24, 2022 which "received a rapturous reception" (The Times of London) with violinist Sarah Off, Fixmer’s Concerto for Violin brought together The Greeley Philharmonic Orchestra and local homelessness assistance groups - The Greeley Family House, The Boulder Shelter for the Homeless, The United Way, The Bridge House and the City of Greeley. This partnership helped to create visibility for local homeless assistance organizations and bolster public support.
